This is a huge issue for all women, we tend to have so many clothes but always say “I don’t have anything to wear”. Don’t worry there is a solution, just need to follow some steps to create the perfect wardrobe.
First pull out your clothes for the upcoming season and storage the one that you won’t use until next season. For example take out spring-summer and put away fall-winter. Bring out EVERYTHING, especially the ones you never wear. Organize by tops, bottoms and one piece.
Second Create a chart where you have YES, MAYBE AND NOT AT ALL. Take the following in consideration
- Is it a flattering color on you?
- Fits well or needs some adjustments, is it an easy modification?
- Is it in good condition?
- Does it makes your body look better?
- Is it age appropriate?
- Do you feel comfortable with it?
Clothes | Is it a flattering color on you? | Fits well or needs some adjustments, is it an easy modification? | Is it in good condition? | Does it makes your body look better? | Is it age appropriate? | Do you feel comfortable with it? |
1. Black top V neck | yes | Everything is perfect | yes | The V neck is very flattering | yes | Very much |
2. Black top ruffles | yes | is not my favorite | one ruffle needs to be fix | no, the ruffles are too big. | yes | not much |
3. | ||||||
4. |
From the example above the Black top V neck is a YES for sure but the black top ruffle could be a NO she doesn't feel good with it and it has a major repair to be done.
Then a YES will be the one that has everything perfect or even has some alterations to be done but nothing to difficult or even if the color is not the most flattering you can always throw a scarf or a nice necklets. If there is a bigger alteration but you really like the color and feel good keep it as a MAYBE and when you start creating outfits try your best with it; if that isn’t working get rid of it, if you found that somehow you can make it flattering then keep it. The NOT AT ALL are the pieces that definitely doesn’t work for you; the color isn’t the correct one, it’s in bad conditions, isn’t age appropriate or the style doesn’t help your body, that’s something, for sure, you can give to someone else.
After selecting your YES, MAYBE AND NOT AT ALL start creating outfits, keep in mind that if one piece doesn’t work with at least 3 outfits that will be a NO. You don’t need to keep things that you can only wear once when you can have versatile pieces that will work with different kind of outfits. Your closet is useful when you have cloth that makes you feel confident and that you like to wear, so don’t buy things just because they are in style if they don’t really make you feel comfortable. Is not about QUANTITY is about QUALITY.
